Welcome to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) Division of Strategic National Stockpile (SNS) Modeling Forum. This forum’s purpose is to promote the exchange of ideas, models and simulations designed to improve emergency response efforts and public health. Our initial focus is on the SNS efforts to plan and model the response efforts required in the aftermath of an aerosolized anthrax attack on a US population, which is our most difficult mission in terms of urgency [the entire affected population would have to be provided prophylaxis with in 48 hours], however we encourage dialogue amongst all of our colleagues who are modeling various aspects and attributes of emergency response and other public health missions. It is with this exchange of ideas and information in mind, that we encourage you to suggest forum topics, and links to other forums, news articles, publications, blogs and websites that you feel are pertinent to the goals of this site.

For more information about the SNS, please visit the CDC home page or the SNS website.

Click here to watch a two-minute demo of TourSolver. While the demo presents the standard out-of-the-box version of TourSolver, which is not customized for the specific needs of disaster planning, it provides a general overview of the features of the SNS TourSolver version, provided on the Portal.

Lastly, I would like to remind you that this site is unsecured and open to the public, so please do not post information that could possibly compromise your jurisdictions plans, especially the identification of any fixed facilities that you plan to use during a response. When possible, please use the generic POD or RSS or other generic terms in your postings to this site. Additionally, please feel free to post anonymously or using an alias, though you will have to register and logon to post your comments and questions. -Rick Pietz, Forum Administrator

When you log in, it prompts you to allow access to your local hard drive in order to link/upload/download data. This connection remains active only while you are logged in. You control what files are accessed during the link data process. After you exit the application all connections are no longer active and all data that was uploaded or generated is deleted. Note that linking data is the preferred method instead of actually uploading.

Remember, when you finish using TourSolver, you must save context and routes to your computer as well as any Roadbooks or other reports. These are to be saved to the $ drive which represents your computers hard drive.

Again, if you have any questions, contact me at broberts@c2logix.com.
